Meet Blair

Blair is a Christchurch local with nearly 30 years of experience across construction, insurance and project management.

After completing a Bachelor of Commerce at Lincoln University, he began his building career working on architectural homes in Queenstown. Blair completed his carpentry apprenticeship and later progressed into a foreman role in Christchurch.

He then moved into insurance loss adjusting, working with organisations including IAG and EQC during the Christchurch earthquake recovery. Over the following decade, Blair managed residential reinstatement work across more than 100 homes, including complex repairs and house re-levelling projects.

In 2024, Blair established Ensure Build, bringing his practical building knowledge and insurance experience together to provide well-managed residential projects throughout Christchurch.

My sister and I as Trustees of our mother‘s estate reopened a decade old Southern Response claim , following the late discovery of uneven and non-compliant floor levels in her house.

Blair Langton of EnsureBuild Ltd was contracted by Southern Response and the Trustees to manage the extensive repairs required to bring the house up to MBIE compliant floor levels and repair the extensive and invasive processes required to do so .

The process involved the mechanical re-levelling of the floors after removal of all fixtures and fittings , a full exterior and interior repaint ,new tiling , new external plumbing , new paths and patio , electrical work and reinstalling toilets , showers and kitchen .

Throughout the six month process, Blair was positive ,helpful and exceptionally well organised . His indicated repair milestones and dates were all met and the work was to a very high standard. Blair skilfully maintained communication with us and kept us well informed throughout.

I have previous development experience and consider Blair’s approach and work to be of the highest level .
